Who I Am

I'm Chris. I live in Seymour with my kids and my grandkids, all under one roof. Every issue in this campaign has a face at my dinner table.

I'm not a career politician and I'm not trying to climb anywhere. I got in this race because I watched this community get overlooked one too many times and figured somebody had to step up.

Community service is a passion of mine. I was showing up and pitching in around here for years, long before I ever asked anybody for a vote. Showing up isn't a campaign strategy for me. It's just what neighbors do.

I know what it's like to not have enough to eat. When I talk about families making it to the end of the month, I'm not guessing. I've been there.

I'll tell you straight, even when it isn't what you want to hear. And I do what I say. You can hold me to that.

Why I'm Running

I filed to be a candidate on the very first day of the filing period. Not because I had some big plan, but because this district couldn't wait another year for somebody to pay attention to it.

I've watched people put off going to the doctor because they couldn't afford the bill that was coming. I've watched folks stretch a prescription to make it last, or skip it altogether so there'd be groceries. I've watched our schools get squeezed and our young people leave because there wasn't anything here for them to stay for. Every time, the decisions got made somewhere else by people who have never set foot in Seymour or Salem or Brownstown.

I'm from Texas originally. I've made Indiana home for almost twenty years now, and this community took me in. I'm not going to sit here and watch it get treated like an afterthought.

My number one priority is the people of District 69. There's plenty of noise coming out of Washington and plenty of people happy to yell about it. That's not the job I'm asking for. The job I'm asking for is looking after the families right here, and that's where my attention is going to stay.

So I'm running. For our families, and for our future.
